P-VIP Replacement Lamps

Use only original lamps

If a lamp from a different manufacturer is used inside a projector system designed for P-VIP systems, many quality issues can result. Likely issues in OSRAM’s experience include the wrong cooling setup (possible results are shattering, a short life, lumen decay), wrong driving mode (possible results are a short life, lumen decay, flickering, wrong colours, shattering) and wrong ignition parameters (possible result is no ignition). Issues related to other parts of the projector system (e.g. electronics) can also not be excluded.

Availability of P-VIP replacement lamps

P-VIP lamps have to be adapted (caged) for their application inside the projector. Therefore OSRAM does not supply replacement lamps directly. Replacement lamps can be obtained via OEM or master distributors.

OSRAM uses a global network of selected distributors to supply its P-VIP projection lamps to a wider network of traders. These stockists can then provide OSRAM’s comprehensive P-VIP range onto the aftermarket. The OSRAM P-VIP range includes lamps for both commercial projectors and rear-projection TV. End users interested in P-VIP lamps, or P-VIP technology, can either contact OSRAM directly or our distributors to receive details of P-VIP stockists in their region.
