Instead of the conventional glass reflector, the patented aluPAR 56 and aluPAR 64 feature a light aluminium reflector which reduces the lamp weight by up to 50%, resulting in easier handling and minimal storage and transport costs compared with conventional lamps. The combination of the high-performance halogen capsule's compact filament and the aligned high-precision reflector increases the luminous intensity, especially for aluPAR 56, by up to 10%. The lightweight aluminium reflector and the front lens are mechanically linked and can be disassembled.

Thanks to their environmentally friendly, modular design, the aluPAR received the "Environmental Impact Award" at PLASA 2005. OSRAM aluPAR are fully compatible with the market standard.
